Pisa and Florence in one day, from Rome

Day trip from Rome

Pisa and Florence in one day, from Rome

The Leaning Tower in the morning, Florence in the afternoon: Tuscany’s two most famous postcards in a single day, with the car taking you from one to the other.

In short

Two iconic cities in one day, with no train changes or connections: in the morning we take you to Pisa for an hour and a half at the Field of Miracles, then on to Florence for an afternoon in the historic centre and the view from Piazzale Michelangelo. Price for the whole car: from € 850 + 10% VAT by sedan, from € 900 by van, tolls and fuel included.

This is the perfect tour if you have a single day and want to go home with your photo at the Tower and a stroll through the heart of Florence. By train it would mean changes, connections and taxis; with a driver you travel from one city to the other in comfort, and all your free time is yours to enjoy.

The day, hour by hour

  • 7:00 · Departure from your hotel in Rome.
  • 10:30 · Arrival in Pisa, Field of Miracles: the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral and the Baptistery.
  • 12:00 · Departure for Florence, with a quick lunch before leaving or on arrival.
  • 13:15 – 15:45 · Florence: the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, the Ponte Vecchio, then a drive up to Piazzale Michelangelo.
  • 16:00 · Departure for Rome, back at your hotel around 19:00.

Pisa: an hour and a half is enough

The Field of Miracles is a UNESCO World Heritage site and you take it all in at a glance: the Tower, the Cathedral, the Baptistery and the Camposanto on the same lawn. An hour and a half is enough to walk around, go into the Cathedral and take your photos.

Climbing the Tower is booked for a set time and is not allowed for children under 8. If you want to go up, a late-morning slot keeps the arrival from Rome relaxed.

Florence: the best of it, on foot

The afternoon brings the finest walk in Florence: the Duomo with Brunelleschi’s dome, Piazza della Signoria with Palazzo Vecchio, the Ponte Vecchio. This is Florence enjoyed in the open air; for the Uffizi or the David, the Florence day trip is devoted entirely to the city.

The last stop is Piazzale Michelangelo, by car: the view of Florence everyone wants to take home, without the climb at the end of the day.

Tailored to you

It is the ideal choice if you want to see both cities in one day without any hassle: the drive becomes your time to relax between stops. Travelling with young children or dreaming of Florence’s museums? We can split the day in two or focus entirely on Florence.

It can also be done the other way round, Florence in the morning and Pisa in the afternoon, when the light on the square is at its best. We help you choose the order and timings, and book the Tower climb.
