Civitavecchia port
Transfers between Rome and the port of Civitavecchia
From the ship to the hotel, or from the hotel to the boarding quay. A fixed rate and timings built around the cruise schedule.
The port of Civitavecchia is about 80 kilometres from Rome: an hour and a quarter under normal conditions, and considerably more when the disembarkation window is misjudged. Cruise passengers usually have a single day available, and losing three hours of it to badly organised transfers changes the whole experience.
The rate is fixed per journey between the port and Rome and covers tolls and fuel. The pick-up time is agreed on the disembarkation time, which the cruise line tells passengers in advance.

Frequently asked questions
Civitavecchia port
How long does the journey from Civitavecchia to Rome take?
About an hour and a quarter to central Rome and an hour to Fiumicino Airport under normal traffic conditions. At peak times half an hour more may be needed, which is taken into account when setting the time.
What happens if disembarkation runs late?
The pick-up time is agreed on the disembarkation time, which passengers know in advance from the cruise line. That time allows the normal tolerance for how long disembarkation takes. If the delay becomes significant, a message is enough: the time is moved, at no extra cost.
Can we see Rome between disembarking and our flight?
Yes, and it is a very common request. In that case the hourly hire formula works better, as it covers stops and multiple destinations: it is quoted together with the transfer.
Are tolls included in the rate?
Yes. Motorway, fuel and terminal parking are already included. Nothing further is requested at the end of the journey.
