The Amalfi Coast, departing from Rome

Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast, departing from Rome

Positano, Amalfi and Ravello in a single day, or the transfer alone. With a chauffeur who drives that road regularly.

The Amalfi coast road is one of the most beautiful in Europe and one of the most demanding to drive: narrow, cut into the cliff above the sea, with blind bends and junctions where two coaches cannot pass together. Tackling it in a hire car, after three hours of motorway and without knowing the route, turns a memorable day into a tense one.

The service offers two formulas. The transfer, for those who simply need to reach their hotel on the Coast. The full-day tour, eleven hours in total departing from and returning to Rome, for those who want to see the Coast and sleep back in the city.

What is included

Everything already covered by the price

Eleven full hours

The full-day tour covers the entire day: the outward journey, the visits with stops, and the return to Rome in the evening. No extra hours to count.

Positano, Amalfi and Ravello

The classic itinerary takes in the three main towns and can be adjusted according to your interests and the time you want to give each.

Motorway and tolls included

Fuel, tolls and restricted-zone access are already covered: the quote you receive is the final amount.

Photo stops

The viewpoints along the coast road are part of the route, not a detour to negotiate separately.

A driver who knows the road

The Amalfi coast road takes practice. It is driven regularly, with knowledge of where to stop and which hours flow best.

Early departure

The tour leaves early to avoid the traffic on the Coast, which becomes prohibitive after mid-morning in the summer months.

Frequently asked questions

Amalfi Coast

What is the difference between the transfer and the full-day tour?

The transfer is a one-way journey: the vehicle takes you to the Coast and the service ends there. The full-day tour lasts eleven hours, departs from Rome, includes the visits with stops and brings you back to Rome in the evening.

Are eleven hours enough to see the Coast?

They are enough for an intense first visit: travel takes about five hours in total, leaving six hours for Positano, Amalfi and Ravello with stops at the viewpoints. For a more relaxed visit it is better to stay overnight in the area and book two transfers.

Can Pompeii be included in the tour?

Yes, but it must be decided in advance: visiting the excavations takes at least two hours, which come out of the time on the Coast. The quote states clearly what does and does not fit into the eleven hours.

Is lunch included?

No, the rates cover the car with a chauffeur. The choice of restaurant is yours, with reliable suggestions available along the route.

Sedan or van for the Amalfi Coast?

On the coast road the sedan is more agile. Beyond four passengers a van remains necessary, allowing for a few extra manoeuvres at the tightest junctions.
